Party loner?

Sir — It was reassuring to see that there are a few honest leaders in the Congress like Mr AK Antony who have the moral courage to admit that Congress’s pseudo-secularism tended to slant towards a “particular section” (read the Muslims).

In fact, such practice has been one of the reasons for the Congress’s unprecedented electoral debacle. The party did not implement the policy of fairness and equality to all Indians.

But, judging by the culture of sycophancy that promptly went into action to defend the dynastic leadership in the party, the chances of Mr Antony’s forthright views making any real, decisive impact for course correction, seem remote. There may be a few noises in Mr Antony’s support, but, essentially, business will remain as usual.
