Partisan Governors

Sir — This refers to the report, “Push comes to UPA’s Guvs” (June 18). The fact remains that the Governors being supposedly targeted come from a particular party having partisan interests. Most have had a history of biased behaviour in matters of politics in favour of their affiliate party.

In fact, the 2010 Supreme Court order that is being touted by the Congress was a result of the UPA regime’s vindictive behaviour against previous gubernatorial appointees. 

The Congress cannot run with the hare and hunt with the hound. It is time that people of eminence and standing replace the partisan appointees. This will reverse the tilt towards nepotism and favouritism in the appointment of Governors.
