Sir — One can only lament that the days when the collective wisdom of Parliament gave direction to governance, are long gone. Now, Parliament is derailing governance. Actually, the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha is using its numerical advantage to embarrass the NDA Government.
While the Winter Session of Parliament over, it is unfortunate that the Opposition is protesting over the issue of religious conversions. Statements by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders on the sensitive issue have added fuel to fire. The communal situation is surely of grave concern, but the Opposition demand that the Prime Minister speaks in the House, was unnecessary. The reform agenda could remain stuck.
