Sir — The Budget session of Parliament resumed on Monday, March 5, but sadly, both Houses — lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha — were shamelessly disrupted by opposition parties. Appeals by presiding officers to peacefully debate these matters of public interest and the Parliamentary Affairs Minister’s repeated assertion about Government readiness to place its views on concerned topics, have been willfully ignored by the disrupters.
They come to the well of the House, surround the Chairperson, shout slogans and display objectionable placards.
It is sickening to see the Parliament, the temple of democracy, being reduced to a laughing stock by those who have been popularly elected to discuss and solve peoples’ problems. And at a colossal cost to public funds.
