Sir — It is shameful that some of our lawmakers could stoop so low as to use pepper spray in Parliament. They don’t care about the temple of democracy. It has become fashionable for Members of Parliament to create a ruckus over every other issue, to further their own personal interests — even if it is at the cost of making a mockery of Parliament.
Instead of facing mere suspension, the errant MPs must face the law of the land, removed from Parliament and even banned from politics. Also, strict laws must be put in place so that parliamentary procedures are not hijacked in this manner. No one should have to see such disgraceful politics and nobody should be allowed to demean the image of Parliament.
