This refers to the editorial, “Pakistan’s other burden” (August 18). Pakistan did to Balochistan the exact same thing that it did to Kashmir. It sent in its guerrilla forces and annexed the region by force. India came to Kashmir’s aide, and that it is why it was saved. Nobody came to help Balochistan, and so the Baloch people are still fighting and suffering.
Also, if Jawaharlal Nehru could take the case of Kashmir to the UN, then why can’t India do the same for Balochistan nowIJ Similarly, if the world can argue that the West Bank belongs to the Arab-Palestinians, then Balochistan should also belong to the Baloch people onlyIJ
Pakistan’s human rights violations in Balochistan and also in Sind should be taken up at the United Nations and highlighted before the world. let us have referendums in Sind and Balochistan so that the people can decide which nation they want to be a part of.
