Pakistan must tackle home-bred terrorism

This refers to the editorial, “Pakistan's blunders” (December 20). Pakistan's political establishment has committed many mistakes in the past, and this trend is continuing unabated. Pakistan has nurtured and promoted many bhasmasurs who are destroying the country, whereas these outfits were created to destabilise India. Now it is time for Pakistan to wake up, else the damage would be incalculable. As an eyewash, it has taken certain offensive measures against select terrorist organisations.

Pakistan should have acted much earlier. The world largely believes that Pakistan's political establishment is not serious about home-bred terror group. The situation prevailing there could impair peace in the entire Indian sub-continent. India needs to be more vigilant. The recent arrest of an Islamic State sympathiser who operated a Twitter handle in the terror group's support, shows that there are dangerous elements flourishing in the country. Even that arrest came after a foreign channel exposed the sympathiser.
