Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Hubris is the opponent” (April 11). Negativity spreads faster than positivity and perception is mostly bigger than reality. Hence, the BJP needs to be more than cautious. It is indeed shameful that neither POSCO was invoked nor FIR was registered in the complaint of the minor girl against BJP MlA from Unnao.
Even Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister acted quite late in the day. Coupled with this, the narrative, spread by the Opposition that the BJP is anti-Dalit, is gaining momentum because the BJP has not been able to send a right message to the Dalits. Since it has been almost four years that the BJP has been in office, arrogance is bound to creep in some of its leaders. But that is something which we do not associate with the BJP as it has grown from a ‘two MP party’ to have a full majority of its own. There is still time for the BJP leaders to change their approach and work for the good of the common people and send the right message to the masses what all former leaders have done in the last four years. Otherwise they will have no one but themselves to blame.
