Sir — This refers to the article, “Beyond the Black Hole” (March 25) by Umang Aggarwal. Thanks to the writer for listing out many unknown facts about Stephen Hawking along with a number of photographs that enriched the article. Hawking was an outstanding scientist despite being physically handicapped.
His indomitable spirit needs be respectfully saluted and this will inspire not only divyangs but also poornangs. His greatness lies in the fact that he sportively accepted and laughed at himself at others’ jokes and jibes. His life reminds me of Rishi Ashtavakra mentioned in the Ramayana.
