Opposition must unite and pass the GST Bill

This refers to the editorial, “Strategy of disruption” (December 15). Only seven days are left for the closing of the Winter Session, and there is no chance of the Goods and Services Tax Bill being discussed, let alone being passed. The editorial has rightly said that if the Congress thinks that by making a hue and cry in the House people will think that the Congress scion has grown bold enough not to let Parliament function, it is living in a fool’s paradise. People are not so simpleton to not understand the difference between what is right and wrong.

First it was former Union Minister Selja Kumari who castigated the then Gujarat Government on a Dwarka temple issue, and now it is Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi who has accused RSS workers for not letting him enter a temple in Assam. However, both stand exposed. It is rightly said that lies have expiry dates, but the truth never expires. In the interest of the nation, the Opposition should unite and let the GST Bill be passed.
