Omar's regime cares for separatists, not Pandits

This refers to the editorial, “Omar regime capitulates” (August 4). Kausar Nag is a place of pilgrimage for the Hindus of Jammu & Kashmir. If the Government of the day withdraws permission to please separatists for its political survival, it indicates how the political establishment works under the influence of anti-nationals.

You have rightly stated that the opposition put forth by these desperate characters is part of a larger pattern of stonewalling any alternative influence or activity in Kashmir valley. Ironically, when even the religious sentiments of Kashmiri Pandits are hurt, the issue neither attracts the attention of self-appointed secularists nor hurts their conscience. Instead of providing protection to Kashmiri Pandits, the State Government has made clear where its sympathies lie. New Delhi must act or else such developments will lead to matters as disastrous as the situation that prevailed between 1984 and 1990.
