This refers to J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's remarks that “either J&K won't be part of India or Article 370 will still exist”. As of now, the State is part of India and Mr Abdullah is the constitutionally elected Chief Minister.
It is hoped that he will be bound by the oath he has taken. Mr Abdullah has the right to express his opinion regarding Article 370 and remain firm for its continuation. But his recent statement is an incitement for J&K to secede from India.
Whatever may be the priorities of Mr Abdullah, the fact is that he is an Indian. Can anyone of us put a condition to remain an IndianIJ We are a democracy but the irony is that Mr Abdullah is not even ready to allow a discussion on Article 370. We may agree to disagree on Article 370, but the idea of separation has no place in it. Mr Abdullah should clarify his stand.
