This refers to the article, “Authors and their selective protests” (October 29) by Ashoke Pandit. Noted lyricist Gulzar has claimed on more than one occasion that he is a communist sympathiser. Both the communists and the Congress are opposed to the BJP, so they have adopted this ‘novel’ way of protesting. This is the protest of those, who ‘lost’ the 2014 election. This is also the protest of those who now know that they cannot return to power. The comman man is just amused by this give-and-take of awards.
