Sir — The Congress-led Government in Assam has failed to ensure the safety of the residents of the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts. Apparently, since the Bodoland People’s Front is an ally of the Government, the Tarun Gogoi regime is unable to take action against Bodo militants.
Despite the fact that the Bodo liberation Tigers Force has been officially disarmed, it is still equipped with weapons which it misuses. The reason behind the recent militancy is that non-Bodos are said to have voted against the will of the Bodos.
The Government’s appeasement of Bodos has harmed the lives of non-Bodos. Instead of playing politics, the Government should ensure the safety of non-Bodos, protect the lives of minorities who are citizens of India, and identify the illegal immigrants.
