No-news day

Sir — This refers to an interesting report that the BBC once had a no-news day when the anchor announced that the regular news bulletin stood cancelled because the broadcaster had nothing to report that day. Music on the piano was played in place of the news bulletin.
I recall a day, some decades ago, when All India Radio ran short of news stories, and relayed an insignificant report about a mouse in its prime-time bulletin. Even today, Monday newspapers desperately depend on agency stories.
