Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Blair, Bush and blunders” (July 8). War is a serious and dangerous event against humanity. The future of humanity and civilians is at stake. The Iraq war has not solved the problem. First, casualties are still taking place as the recent toll of 200 killings in Iraq has shown. Second, no stablised Government worth the name has yet come about. Third, the Shia-Sunni divide is still prevailing with the Islamic State on the scene. No doubt, the brutal Saddam Hussein has been eliminated, but no credible alternative has been provided. The Chilcot report should be seriously studied to avoid future blunders on such issues like a full-fledged war.
