Sir — Imran Khan, former skipper of the Pakistan cricket team, has taken a massive lead in pushing his party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to victory and is now set to take over as the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.
It is highly appreciable that as a lead cricketer, he had visited India many times. Surely, he must have a better understanding of India. Even though he might have some local compulsions to keep the animosity against India alive, one only hopes that the sportsman spirit embedded in this once great player would lead him to blossom into a statesman eschewing hatred and animosity against his immediate neighbouring country.
Hope India would also make use of this opportunity and do its best to make peace with Pakistan, of course, without compromising on our interests, under the new leadership.
