Netaji's India

Published on:

Sir — This refers to the article, “Netaji’s forgotten Indian Army” (May 4) by Deepak Sinha. Despite the efforts of successive Congress regimes over the past decades, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose lives on in the hearts and minds of the Indian masses. He is remembered as a fierce freedom-fighter. The romantic notions of an India that could have been, had Netaji lived and returned to the country after independence, are favourite mental escape routes for many nationalists who are often disappointed by the India that the Nehru-Gandhis built. It is high time that Netaji is given his due. The Government must officially acknowledge and recognise his valiant efforts for the freedom of our motherland.
