This refers to the report, “BJP committed to social justice via reservation: Shah” (October 20). I would like to draw BJP president Amit Shah’s and his party’s attention to the poor condition of the Surjapuri-speaking people of the north-eastern part of Bihar.
These people, who are divided across different religious communities, are living in and around the area called Seemanchal. They are the worst sufferers in terms of economic deprivation and educational backwardness, no matter which party rules the Centre or the State.
The BJP should provide for reservation or announce some special package for their upliftment and ensure social justice. These people have for long been neglected.
