Needless interference

This refers to the editorial, “Pakistan’s desperation” (May 19). The Geospatial Information Regulation Bill will now present Jammu & Kashmir with its true national bout, as was depicted by Hari Singh, the Maharaja of Kashmir in 1947. Pakistan’s displeasure with the introduction of the Bill is uncalled for. First, the Simla Agreement tried to resolve all disputes bilaterally. Second, going to the United Nations is a violation of the Simla spirit. Third, the UN is already against any intervention to disturb the status quo. Hence, Pakistan’s interference in the internal affairs of India is improper.
