Sir — This refers to the article, “Himalayan blunder to Himalayan handshake” (May 23) by Claude Arpi. The Congress-led UPA is not only the most corrupt and weakest Government that we have had, it is also the meekest when it comes to dealing with foreign powers.
The Union Ministry of External Affairs is a conglomerate of babus/stenos, who are busy phrasing and typing those long-winded statements and communiqués that seem to have little impact. Till China shows real earnestness in addressing India’s concerns, we should maintain a dignified reserve and stop this silly crowing over ‘mutual trust and bonding’. A good way to send across a message would be to stop importing Chinese goods that have, in any case, affected the domestic market and products.
