Native returns to add value to his company

The return of Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy, now as the executive chairman, will definitely boost the overall fortunes of the IT giant which has seen a decline in overall revenue growth in the last nine quarters.

Even as Infosys suffered a loss of market share, its rivals marched ahead, with Cognizant showing a revenue growth of a whopping 20.1 per cent as compared to 6.6 per cent of Infosys in 2012, meagre by its own lofty standards.

The software major has been going through a rough patch in the last two years and the problem, deep-rooted, was said to be a combination of factors including low employee morale, which resulted in senior management exits, and the shuffling of key roles, which apparently seemed to have backfired. It was quite apparent that Infosys was missing the strong guidance and astuteness of its co-founder to spot talent and woo big clients. Steve Jobs returned to boost Apple; Mr Murthy's return too will add ‘value' to Infosys.
