This refers to the editorial, “Entrepreneurs’ day out” (January 18). The Start-up India, Stand Up India policy of the Government is a welcome initiative to galvanise the country’s entrepreneurial spirit. By plugging aspiring entrepreneurs into a network of incubators, mentors and investors and providing them the ambiance to try out their business ideas in the real world, the Government has presented a holistic framework to nurture the start-up ecosystem.
The Government should, however, be clear about its role in the larger start-up picture and not restrict itself to being a mere facilitator. It should ensure enough safeguards to encourage a level-playing field for all stakeholders.
