Moral decline

Published on:
Sir — Moral degeneration, like a super cyclone, has engulfed Indian society. Even the four pillars of Indian democracy — the legislature, the executive, the judiciary and the media — are not immune to its pernicious impact. A few years ago, an MlA or an MP involved in the molestation of a woman was sensational news.
Then we came to know about Ministers being involved.  A few days back, we were shocked to know about an allegation of sexual harassment of a young woman by a former Supreme Court judge. And now we are stunned to find that the editor of a powerful media house has been named in a rape case. Tarun Tejpal, the pioneer of sting operations in India, the one who was exposing the vulnerabilities of others, has proved pathetically that he is also not above board. God knows what shocking news we will encounter tomorrow.
Who will save it from this calamitous fallIJ Can we have some hope from the saints and spiritual gurusIJ People like Asaram Bapu certainly make
us sceptic.
