Sir — This refers to the article, “Religion gets noisy in the literal sense” (October 12) by Navneet Anand. The high decibel noise of sound amplifiers, drums and firecrackers indicates that religious festivals are serving anti-divine forces. Indeed, religion is being used to create hardships in our lives, to pollute the environment and to pump up the devil in us. Now, it is time for Diwali revellers to have a field day to contribute huge amount of pollution, noise and accidents. The need of the hour is to stop the nuisance in the name of religion.
