Sir — This refers to former Union Minister for Environment and Forests Jayanthi Natarajan’s letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. It is a blessing in disguise that political leaders of the same party are exposing one another’s (mis)deeds. One of Ms Natarajan’s former colleagues had alleged that she took Government files to Chennai for clearance. If the Congress was aware of such doing, why didn’t it initiate action against the then MinisterIJ
Also, if political parties had complied with the Central Information Commission’s verdict of June 3, 2013, which held all the political parties came under the ambit of the Right to Information Act, then much of their wrongdoings could have been easily exposed. In this case, an RTI application could have been filed seeking information on the action taken on Ms Natarajan’s letter to the Congress president. But the political parties joined hands and did not abide by the CIC verdict.
