Former Minister Jayanthi Natarajan's revelation regarding interference by Ms Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi are not shocking, as we always knew that despite not being part of the Government, they had more powers than then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The way many stuck projects were cleared by her successor Veerappa Moily within days, confirmed that there was more to it than met the eye. There is no harm in the present Government reviewing those decisions. But it should not be biased towards any specific corporate group.
Ms Natarajan’s revelation has once again raised the question on the relevance of the Nehru-Gandhis in the oldest political party. The sooner they realise their time is over better, the better it will be for them.
