Mamata's hatred for the court is sheer impudence

This refers to the editorial, “Trinamool's Narada mess” (March 23). After the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam, the Narada sting operation case has now threatened to snowball into a major issue to haunt West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. An adamant Banerjee's penchant to disrespect top courts and high institutions seems to have boomeranged on her. The Supreme Court has taken strong exception to the petition filed by the Government for basing it on flimsy grounds. That the Government had to tender an unconditional apology for its propensity to cast aspersions on the High Court judges, who passed the order, is a blow for Banerjee.

Also, Banerjee's rabid hatred towards the Central Bureau of Investigation, on a wild assumption that it serves the Union Government, is highly preposterous and sheer impudence. Banerjee's proclivity to see a conspiracy in every investigation ordered against the Trinamool Congress members does not behove her status because she has nothing to fear but her own conscience.
