Sir — This refers to the editorial, “JNU issue and beyond” (February 15). We have seen student protests of various kinds in the past, but shouting anti-national slogans and saying that India should be broken into pieces, should not be taken lightly. Politicians who came out in support of the anti-national students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University should introspect and tell us if they are not just being opportunists, like they were in the case of Rohith Vemula’s suicide.
Shameful and unfortunate are small words to describe how the JNU incident has been turned into a political battlefield.
Moreover, is there any difference between the students at JNU and the people who raise Pakistan’s flag in Kashmir valleyIJ Certainly, this is a huge blot for one of the most reputed universities in our country.
