Sir — April 7 is observed as World Health Day to mark the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948. This year’s theme is ‘Universal health coverage: Everyone, everywhere’ with a slogan ‘Health for all’. Though human health is one area where 20th century made significant contribution but we still have a long way to go. It is alarming that India ranks high in people suffering from diabetes. Also, the average age of heart patient has come down. Only a healthy nation can make a wealthy nation as healthy people being more productive will contribute more for the growth. A pressing need for this Government is to provide affordable and accessible, quality healthcare services to all sections of society, especially to the poor and downtrodden.
