This refers to the article, “Eliminating the threat of nuclear weapons” (May 6) by RK Pachauri. The writer’s dream of establishing legal as well as peaceful systems to ensure the total elimination of war will not materialise within the existing state of affairs, especially with regards to the rising social and political issues in our country. To think otherwise is to be in a cloud cuckoo land. But the means to blow the status quo status to oblivion, may very well exist.
