Sir — This refers to the article, “Truth is in real world, dreams are deceptive” (June 21) by G Parthasarathy. Everyone knew from the start that, if the Taliban could just hold on for some more years and cause serious damage to the US-led forces in Afghanistan, the US Government would lose the will to continue with its presence in that country. That’s what is happening now. The US is now wooing the ‘good Taliban’ for a peace deal.
