Sir — If the condition of tourists stranded in flood-hit Uttarakhand is bad, the agony of the locals is worse. Unfortunately, all attention for the moment is on rescue and relief operations directed at tourists, while the plight of residents has been ignored.
There should be no dithering on the ongoing relief effort for the tourists and pilgrims, but the authorities should direct their energy and funds at the rehabilitation of locals, who too are victims.
