Sir — This refers to the article, “Telangana may trigger more statehood demands” (August 2) by Kalyani Shankar.
If Potti Sreeramulu, a devout follower of Mahatma Gandhi and a revolutionary who sacrificed his life for the cause of an Andhra State, were alive today, he would be distraught at the splintering of his beloved Andhra. But he would have found it hard to argue with the reasons that led to the creation of Telangana.
Seemandhraites or non-Telangana region people need not fear this bifurcation. They are a hard-working people who can rebuild their State after this division. Indeed, the contribution of the Telugu people, even in neighbouring Karnataka, especially Bangalore, is unequalled .
