Sir — It is unfortunate that with the onset of summer, several States face problems of acute water shortage. That water scarcity has become is a global issue is a known. But India is fortunate that it does not fall in the list of water scarce nation.
Yet, we must make every effort to save water. Effective use of newer technologies, including those of advanced irrigation systems that use less water, and precision agriculture that incorporates data to boost productivity and improve soil health are options that can be explored. Besides, efforts must be made to recycle water. It must be used judiciously.
