This refers to the article, “Authors and their selective protests” (October 29) by Ashoke Pandit. I remember, once in Mumbai (15 years ago), liberal creative people including the famed ones, had forced Sonal Mansingh out of a festival, just because she had an association with the VHP in America, where she had performed.
Today, the same people are saying that the Government is controlling what they can eat, wear or love, and so they are returning their awards. But when it comes to practising by themselves, the liberals force people on whom they should be in touch with and whom they should treat as outcastes.
