Sir — Every Indian is elated over Mr Satya Nadella being appointed as the CEO of Microsoft. Apart from him, many other Indian-origin men and women head reputed multinational corporations.
But it is time to introspect about why our doctors, scientists and technocrats have to migrate to the US to realise their full potential, and why are the Indian Government, research organisations and even private entrepreneurs not able to provide an environment of growth at home. Mr Nadella did not graduate from any fancy IIT or IIM, and this could have been enough not to get a good break with a top-notch corporate in India. Even if he had managed, he would not have had the opportunity to grow like he did at Microsoft.
