Sir — This refers to the article, “Blunder that set an island-nation on fire” (April 22) by Rajesh Singh. The article is excellently written and has come at the right time. The writer is correct in observing that the 30 years of bloodshed Sri lanka suffered from, could have been avoided, had the 1957 pact been implemented. There are lessons to be learned here by the new Government in Colombo.
