This refers to the editorial, “Return of the native” (November 10). There is no doubt that RJD chief lalu Prasad has emerged as the strongest leader in the Bihar election, though people were expecting it to be a fight between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP. Politics throws many surprises, and the BJP’s loss is one of them. The lesson is that no one should be written off forever. Anyone can bounce back, irrespective of his background. Yes, the most unbelievable thing that happened is that even the Congress was able to win as many as 27 seats. All thanks to lalu Prasad and Mr Nitish Kumar.
Now, it will be interesting to see how Mr Nitish Kumar implements his ideas and governs the State. Delivering on what lalu Prasad and Mr Nitish Kumar had promised, will be non-negotiable. The people have entrusted a huge responsibility on their shoulders. lalu Prasad should ensure that he does not interfere in the Government’s functioning and let the Chief Minister have his way. Otherwise, the people of Bihar will be the loser.
