This refers to the article, “Hate-India icon has a change of heart” (October 22) by Rajesh Singh. There is even more to Mr Henry Kissinger than his books or past actions. Mr Kissinger now is a sought-after political consultant with considerable monetary interests. He has not missed the change in the thinking of American companies as well as a large section of politicians on both sides of the divide. All these folks now see an opportunity to make a lot of money in and from India.
With Mr Kissinger's past baggage, he would be an albatross around the neck of the US business in their dealings with India, which in turn means a loss of income for the former US Secretary of State. No wonder he now speaks favourably of India. But, do not count on this to last. ‘leopard' Kissinger has definitely not changed his spots at 90-plus years of age. It is the need of the hour that he is concerned with.
