Sir — This refers to the article, “GM crops are not desirable” (April 25) by Neha Saigal. It is strange that while there is a mention of the dangers, party manifestos, Union Ministry of Environment and Forests, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Agriculture, Monsanto, Mr Jairam Ramesh, Ms Jayanthi Natarajan and ‘scientific opinions’, the name of the scientific organisation of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, is missing. The author should have mentioned what the ICAR’s opinion has been. But then it suited the writer’s motive to keep out the ICAR.
