This refers to the editorial, “It's media's turn now” (March 17). Sometime ago, people considered Mr Arvind Kejriwal as their ‘absolutely correct representative' and a powerful weapon to fight for transparency and good governance. But he has indulged in petty politics like many others.
The rise of the Aam Aadmi Party chief was helped by the media which gave him continued publicity and forgot initially that he was supposed to govern. The media is a bridge through which the common people connect with their leaders.
When leaders of mainstream politics accuse the media for being their enemy, we feel it is their natural expression, because the media with a courageous attitude exposes hideous facts. It is the people's choice to see, listen or read news items from anywhere. To accuse the media as being ‘paid' and partial, like Mr Kejriwal does, is to insult the people's right to free speech and expression.
