Kapil's expose, a blow to Kejriwal's moral image

This refers the report, “Kapil Mishra drops a bombshell” (May 8). This latest episode marks the lowest point in Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal's political career; he came into prominence during Anna Hazare's anti-corruption campaign. Delhi voters must be deeply regretting their overwhelming support to a former Indian Revenue Service officer who had formed a new political outfit, promising moon if his party was voted to power.

After an outstanding result in the 2015 Assembly poll, Kejriwal started daydreaming. The Chief Minister's office in a Union Territory appeared too small; he eyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's seat. Neglecting Delhi, he fought Assembly elections in Punjab and Goa. Unfortunately, he lost badly. His next target is Gujarat and other States where polls were due. It is not clear whether Kejriwal has learnt right lessons and decided to concentrate on Delhi to provide model governance before trying elsewhere. Kapil Mishra's revelation has dealt a death blow to Kejriwal's image as a moral, corruption-free leader.
