Sir — This refers to the article, “Snowden is a traitor just as any other spy” (July 17) by Charles Moore.
From the United States’ point of view Edward Snowden is a ‘traitor’ because he has revealed the ‘dirty secrets’ of the US National Security Agency. But he is hailed as a whistleblower by many. Is it not a crime to snoop on your own people and friends, even if US President Barack Obama says that every nation ‘does it’ for the sake of securityIJ Also, how can other countries tolerate snoopingIJ The US must desist from indulging in such activities to ensure better ties with other countries.
