It's time for India to act and not issue warnings

This refers to the editorial, “Big mockery of justice” (April 12). Kulbhushan Jadhav, a former Indian Navy officer was reportedly picked up by the Inter-Services Intelligence. His trial went on in a closed military court which awarded him death sentence falsely, charging him of being a Research and Analysis Wing agent. Even Pakistani media has backed India, saying that Jadav's execution will have serious consequences for Islamabad. Some journalists have even demanded that the evidence against Jadav be made public.

Pakistan People's Party chief Bilawal Bhutto has said that the matter is disputed. Pakistani authorities have claimed that Jadhav was arrested in March 2016 in Balochistan, while India claimed that Jadhav was kidnapped in Iran. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has assured that if Pakistan goes ahead with the sentence, there will be consequences. The Government will go out of the way to get justice for Jadhav. The Government must come true to Swaraj's words and go beyond just making statements to bring Pakistan to sense.
