It's in Pakistan's interest to develop friendly ties

This refers to the editorial, “Pakistan shamed at UN” (October 3). It was heartening to see External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj speak at the UN General Assembly. Ms Swaraj gave a befitting reply to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who tried to portray his country as a victim of terrorism. Th entire world knows that it is Pakistan that has been nurturing terrorism at home and it is India which is a victim.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi did everything to develop peaceful relationship with our hostile neighbour but, unfortunately, there was no reciprocation from the other side. Pakistan has always showed a tendency to move away from the issue of terrorism by mentioning Kashmir. Unless it stops terrorism, nothing can be achieved. Sooner it learns, better it for that nation. Finally, Pakistan should not live in a fool’s paradise. It thinks that China can help build its economy. In reality, China will extract a huge price for it, as it has its own problems. So, it is in Pakistan's interest to have cordial relations with India.
