Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Dirty dance of politics” (February 20). You have rightly condemned the disgusting attitude of the Congress and other opposition parties on the controversy regarding the Pakistani boat incident.
Even an average newspaper reader would have dismissed the Coast Guard Deputy Inspector General BK loshali’s boastful claim of ordering the blowing up of the Pakistani boat, as most weird and irresponsible. It was in total contradiction to the statements of his superiors and the Defence Ministry immediately after the event. It was officially revealed that Mr loshali was merely an administrative officer who had no role to play in the operations.
Yet, the Congress and its ilk had no concern about the facts on an issue of national security. Detractors of the ruling party seemed more interested in playing politics to malign Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party. It points to a terrible degradation of the grand old party which ruled this country for decades since independence, and its extent of irresponsibility.
