Sir — West Bengal is now being ruled by inept people who know little of law and the Constitution. By giving emotional and meaningless speeches and safeguarding the interests of dubious elements, they are misusing their position. The role of the ruling party against the Central Bureau of Investigation, mandated by the Supreme Court to probe the Saradha chit fund scam, and the ruling party’s agitation in the court campus when an accused Minister was recently produced, reminds one that lawless Bengal needs President’s rule.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s outrageous speeches, offensive body language and cheap mimicry damage Bengal’s political dignity. Bengal has a rich history of contributions that have changed the socio-political situation in not just the State but the country too. Ms Banerjee is destroying those credentials through her irresponsible conduct. She believes all this will fetch her political rewards, but she is mistaken. People are disgusted with her brand of politics. They had voted her on the slogan of “Ma, mati, manush”. Nothing remains of that.
