This refers to the editorial, “Trouble is in the making” (May 21). It is unfortunate that the Government has failed to take any strong action against separatist leaders such as Yasin Malik who spew venom, openly make anti-national statements, hold peace to ransom in Kashmir and still manage to get away with it.
He is the same person who commemorated Parliament attack-accused Afzal Guru at a public forum in Pakistan. Malik and his band of separatists have never been concerned with the welfare of the ordinary Kashmiri citizen. He has participated with gusto in many a disruptive activity in the valley, actively and consciously fraternised with terrorists based in Pakistan and elsewhere, with the sole intent of fragmenting and destroying India, its people, interests and social ethos.
It is a shame that the Congress-led UPA Government, which is quick to rally against the so-called ‘saffron terror' and the RSS, has been unable to take action against the likes of Yasin Malik due to petty vote bank politics.
