This refers to the editorial, “Focus on the real issues” (March 14) and the terror attack on a CRPF camp in Srinagar on Wednesday.
Pakistan and terror groups based and operating from that country against India, will continue to do what they have been doing, and a protest with the Pakistan Government will just be a futile formality. Every terror attack is a failure of our intelligence and security agencies in preventing it. The situation in Kashmir is the result of the soft attitude of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre and in the State towards the separatists in the Valley. These militants openly offend the state and have engineered the present wave of mass protests demanding the remains of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
On the one hand, New Delhi asks Pakistan to hand over Mumbai terror attack perpetrator Hafiz Saeed for trial in India, and on the other JKlF chief Yasin Malik visits Pakistan, shares stage with Saeed and returns to India without the Government initiating any action against him. In any other country, such anti-national elements would have been booked for treason and put behind bars.
